About Cello's
A love of wine, food and the stories behind the bottle.
Cello’s began with a simple idea: to create the kind of wine store the owners themselves would love to visit.
A place to discover something new, learn a little more about wine, sit down for a glass and find bottles you won’t necessarily see everywhere else.
But the story really began on the road.
In 2024, Kairi and Neil packed up their life in Brisbane and set off on a journey around Australia, travelling through some of the country’s incredible wine regions. Along the way, they visited vineyards and cellar doors, met winemakers and growers, and discovered the stories and people behind the labels.
During the journey, Kairi photographed and interviewed the people behind 42 wineries across 13 Australian wine regions for her coffee-table book, One Land, Infinite Expressions.
Somewhere along those thousands of kilometres, the idea for Cello’s started to take shape.
Bringing it home to the Whitsundays
After travelling around Australia for a year, it was time to put down some roots and Kairi and Neil chose the Whitsundays as their new home.
"We wanted to bring a little of what we had discovered on the road with us - interesting wines, independent producers and the stories behind them."

Every bottle on Cellos' shelves has been carefully selected and tasted by the couple themselves, with many sourced directly from the producers. They love discovering smaller Australian wineries, supporting independent businesses and sharing wines you may not come across every day.
Why Cello's?
Cello is couple's much-loved miniature groodle, who travelled Australia right alongside them and was part of the adventure from the beginning.
"When it came time to name our new venture, Cello’s just felt right. She had shared the journey that helped inspire the store, so it seemed only fitting that the next chapter should carry her name."
If you’re lucky, you might even see Cello herself popping into the store from time to time to say hello.
